Lord Milner.
The “ Standard ” hints that there is a possibility of Lord Milner resigning through his differing from the Cabinet on the question of the suspension of the Constitution of Capo Colony. The appointment of Sir Arthur Lawley as Deputy-Governor of the Transvaal is intended to relieve the daily increasing strain which the Governorship of the Transvaal and Orange River Colonies imposes on Lord Milner, independently of his duties as High Commissioner.
