Bible Teaching.
On the matter of Bible-teaching in schools, the Bishop of Wellington in bis address to the Synod, said; ** After much correspondence, and many interviews with ministers of various religious bodies in different parts of the coioriy, the committee appointed at last Synod, with others, have formulated certain proposals which have been accepted almost unanimously by the chief representatives of the larger Christian communities of this : colony, with the exception of the Roman Catholics, who have expressed no opinion, so far as I know, either able or adverse to. these proposals. A society has been ■■ formed With committees in the chief centres, of. the colony, • who work independently, but communicate their proceedings to one another."
