A Vessel Burned at Sea.

The “ Honolulu News ” states that ship Fanny Kerr, from Hnvcas'Jj to San Francisco, was on a7i.11 'Jay 800 miles north-west of Hawaii, when an explosion occurred in the hold. All attempts to suppress the fire failed. Oa 29th May there was a terrific explosion, and flames shot tram the hold and fired the sails and rising. The deck became so hot that the then could nit stand it. Three boats were provisioned and left the ship. One of the boats leaked so much that it was soon abandoned, the captain’s boat taking her crew. The boats were eight days out of sight of land, and then sighted Nnabau, where two days later they landed. The men were much exhausted having had nothing to eat for two days. The fire was attributed to spontaneous combustion.
