■— 1 PROMPT ACTION. The May of of Paterson, in New Jersey, ’where there has been much rioting of late, suspended the Chief of Police, and, arming himself with a rifle and revolvers, assumed command. He then distributed revolvers to millworkers, with instructions to shoot anarchists on sight. The Governor of the State has despatched troops to, Paterson. MINERS KILLED BY DYNAMITE. The strikers at Williamstown, Virginia, ordered twenty-ftve miners to quit work. On the latter’s refusal to comply with their demands, the strikers threw dynamite down the shaft, killing five of the miners. When the survivors _ emerged the strikers fired on them, injuring many.
