The following is the remainder of the business transacted at nesday’s meeting of the ManawatU; _ County Council: —

POUND. Resolved, That the neoessa??'' shelter and notice board be pro*,| vided and fixed at the pounds in Rongotea and Sanson, and that |he Council appoint a poundkeeper and.,j ranger for Rongetea and a poundkeeper for Sanson at next meeting. TRACTION ENGINE TRAFFIC.. The Council decided to allow Mr Carl Anderson to adopt a suggestion made by him to prevent the reads being cut up by the traction engine, which is to have the back axle of his l:J waggons made longer so that wheels will go outside the , track-£ made by the engine, no greater 10ad,..* than 2 J tons to be carried in each waggon. It was also decided to quest the Rongotea Butter Factory Directors to have firewood, etc.,; #® carted by vehicles having tires not less than 4 inches. . Such rate to become due and payable at the County offices, Sanson, August Ist, 1902.
