The Late Mr George Nye.
It is with regret that we have to report the death of Mr George Nyeat Palmerston North, aged 48. He was the oldest son of our old settlers, Mr and Mrs Nye, of Sunnyside. He was also related to matty families in this district, Mrs E. Osborne and Mrs Honors being sisters. His complaint was that fell disease consumption, against which he fought valiantly and patiently for many years. For years he was a popular teacher under , the Wanganui Education Board, and* his scholars came out well in their examinations. The last school he was headmaster was at the Oroua Bridge, and from which he had at last to resign. After spending a year in Foxton he went to reside in Palmerston where he possessed some valuable properties, and where ho will be laid to rest to-day. He leaves no family but his widow, to whom he has been married for twelve years. To those who have known his trouble it will be a relief to know that now ho is at rest. At the deceased’s wish no mourning is to be | worn by anyone for him.
