The Kenniffs.
A report from Mitchell state! that a party of police surprised the Kenniffs on Friday, camped on the edge of a big patch of scrub. The party almost cordoned the fugitives, .but they saw their pursuers, and escaped into the bush. No black-tracker was available, and the police were unable to follow, but they captured the fugitives’ horses and saddles and a quantity of ammunition. Subsequently two horses were stolen in the district. The Kenniffs shot a horse just as the police came up. The captured horses were those in connection with which Doyle and Dalke were pursuing the Kenniffs. Besides a large quantity of revolver and rifle cartridges, the police secured a number of saddles and bridles and a stock of food.
