The A.M.P. Society.
At the annual meeting of the A.M.P. Society, the chairman, in moving the adoption of the report, referred to the exoeedinglyjsatisfeoterj business shown. The surplus was almost the same as last year, but the reversionary bonuses were somewhat smaller this year. In order to make marketable such properties -as fall into the hands of the society, and which can be turned into a remunerative investment, the directors intend to obtain an amendment of |be Aoi| ; and bylaws which prevent improvements being made to such properties. He strongly opposed the suggestion to strengthen the board by the addition of a director representing each State. Judging by the eminently successful results attained under the present system, the shareholders should not lightly ‘ set it aside in favour of one of which .they bad no experience to recommend it. The Hon. E. Richardson, representing New Zealand, spoke to the motion for the adoption of tho report, which was agreed io.
