The Transvaal. MANY BOERS CAPTURED, A column which moved north from the Bindley line, in the north-east of Orange Colony, captured twenty-seven Boers and Colonel Colenbrander’s force has taken 100. Genera! lan Hamilton, after clearing the districts east of Harts river, moved west with General Rochfort, capturing 557 Boers and all the waggons and stock of the commandoes in that district. Colonel Park has captured thirty Boers in the Eastern Transvaal. Boers recently paptured by Colonel Colenbrander’s force lived on roots for five days before they surrendered. LOSSES OF THE ENEMY. Lord Kitchener’s weekly report on the losses of the enemy is as follows : —l9 killed, 6 wounded, 802 taken prisoners, 9 surrendered, and 580 rifles 157 waggons, 400 horses and 4300 captured. *, DE LA KEY’S COMMANDOES. General De la Key’s forces have been reduced by 850 since Lord Methuen’s defeat at Tweebosch. BANISHED LEADERS. Thirty additional Boer leaders, including Judge Kock, have been banished. ANTICIPATIONS OF PEACE. Boer officers in Portuguese camps have received private messages predicting the early conclusion of an honourable peace. They expect to return to the Transvaal in a month. RECENT CAPTURES. The prisoners recently taken by General Hamilton in th« Harts river are irreconcilablcs belonging to Vanzyl’s commando. Colonel Colenbrander effected his captures of Boers by picqueting all the sources from which the Boers drew their water. He posted a detachment at Plykop, whither he drove the enemy. without food and water for four days'~~ The surrenderors included Cornmandanl Bierman.
