Farewell Social.
Oa Thursday evening the All Saints’ Schoolroom was filled with a party who had assembled together to wish Mrs George Gray good-bye, who after a long period of residence in Foxton has lett with Mr Gray and family for their home at Bolls. The schoolroom had been prettily decorated for the occasion by the ladies of the Guild of All Saints’ Church. The time spent was of a most enjoyable nature, progressive euchre and ping pong being indulged in. The Rev. H. F. Wilson, on behalf oi the ladies of Foxton, presented Mrs Gray with a handsome silver cake-basket, and in his remarks spoke of Mrs Gray’s good qualities, who would be missed from our midst. Mr MacDermott replied on behalf of Mrs Gray, who returned thanks for their generous gift. Refreshments were handed round, and the company separated after singing “ Auld Lang Syne." Great credit Is due to the ladies for the excellent arrangements in carrying out the affair, which was most enjoyable, and a fitting send-off to one who was popular during her long residence in this town.
