The Valdares’ Company.
W« would remind our readers that to-night (Thursday), will witness the one and only performance to be given in Poxton at the Public Hall of the world-famed Valdares Company, when a bumper house is assured to welcome the appearance of this clever organisation. The box plan at Air Fraser’s is rapidly filling, so that intending patrons would do well to make early application for seats. An Invercargill exchange commenting on the Company says:—These popular entertainers gave their second performance in the theatre yesterday evening, and attracted quite as large an audience as on the opening night. The combination is certainly a strong one and a repetition of their first programme evoked frequent applause and evidently satisfied those present in every way. Every item was novel and pleasing and the variety maintained the interest and never allowed a dull moment from start to finish. The three Yaldares, who are rightly described as the world’s greatest trick riders, again gave a marvellous exhibition of cycling and their intricate feats' were gone through without a hitch. Their resources are very great and they can produce a long succession of striking acts. They were applauded for every item, and there should be many desirous of Seeing them before they leave Invercargill. The exhibition is truly sensational, and is well worth seeing. The Yaldares were ably supported by the other members of the comawho are adepts in their parbranches. Zamoni as a magician with cards and billiard balls and as a ventriloquist was a host in himself, and bis contributions to the enjoyment were received with hearty appreciation. The tramp cyclist also showed himself to be a master of the wheel, while his comicalities were irresistible. His act on the buggy wheel was a difficult piece of work, and called forth vociferous plaudits. The sisters Vala on the tight rope and Arlo, the juggler, were also perfect in their lines, and Tom Hartford’s comic items caused roars of laughter. Mr Shepherd’s songs were loudly applauded, and the farce was as sueeessful as on tbe previous night. The whole entertainment delighted those present and afforded a very pleasant evening’s enjoyment.
