A somewhat sensational arrest was made at Wanganui on ,Thursday at noon, when an elderly man named Ward was arrested in the Registrar of Marriage's office, on a charge of failing to provide foe three illegiti*
i—laate children of the woman with Whom he formerly lived. He was brought before the Magistrate and remanded till Friday morning, but in the afternoon the fine wee paid by the bride, the accused released and the event duly solemnised on Friday morning. Recently a cross-aotion for assault was heard, the two women above implicated being the parties.
