A Schoolmasters’ Elopement.

The Dannevirke Press says;—As we go to press word has reached us that a great sensation has been caused in a town a hundred miles from Waipawa over the elopment of a well-known schoolmaster, 70 years of age, with on* of his young lady teachers, who had only seen 16 summers. It appears that this gay old Lothario had been for some time teaching the girl music, and became so much enamoured of her good looks as to fall desperately in love with her with the result that he suggested, as he had a wife and grownup family, they should both elope to a far-off land. The young lady gave her consent, andt the upshot of it all is they are now both on their way to Frisco, the old reprobate leaving behind a wife in destitute circumstances.
