Elopement from a Gaol.

Mrs Soffel, wife ot a warder in Pittsburg gaol, chloroformed her husband, armed two brothers Edward and John Biddell, who were imprisoned for murder, and enabled them to escape in a sleigh, herself eioping with Edward. The Sheriff overtook and shot the brothers, who refused to .surrender, and Mrs Soffel attempted suicide.
