Poetic Appeal by Mr Kipling.
Mr Rudyard Kipling, in a ringing, passionate poem, published in “ The Times,” appeals to the nation to face the necessities of Imperialism, and, among other things, to accept conscription. He condemns the immense importance attached to cricket and football, and accuses the British of fawning on the younger British nations for men who can shoot and ride.
