The band opened with an overture ■ “ Knives and Perks,” and Miss Ball sang a song for which she was encored, and later on gave a skirt dance. Mr Lovett, who was in capital voice, gave a fine rendition of “ Queen V the Earth,” for which he was recalled. Miss Withers sang “ Ora Pro Nobis ” very nicely, and Mr Drummond gave a comic song, and had to return, when ho.gave “ Sister Mary Walks Like This ?” Miss Bear, who is the possessor of a very sweet soprano voice of high range, sang a very 1 pretty song “ If all the Stars wore Mine,” and sang’ . “ Tit for Tat" for the encore. The next was a recifcation'by Miss Bertha Dudson, entitled “ Tire Bald-headed Men,” and was encored. Miss Flynn was very successful with her song “ Dorrean.” The first part of the programme concluded with a fan dance and drill performed by sixteen young ladies, who were nicely attired, and presented a pretty picture on the stage. The different movements were carried oat very successfully, and the time was well kept. The second part opened with an overture by the band ‘‘ Lotus Blame ” being played creditably. ' The exhij bition of club-swinging by six young ladies was another item much enjoyed, and Miss Violet 'Ball gave a skirt dance. Mr T. Betty was mo'st • successful in his euphoniuna Solo entitled ‘‘The Wolf.” Mias Bear was again heard to much advantage in “ Dear Heart,” and for a recall gave “ Because I love you." The Drama “* Noodle’s Love Affair ” was 1 taken part in by the following:— !Mr Noodle ... Mr W. G. Saunders i Mrs Broom ... Miss Spring Mr Green ... Mr A. Saunders ! Miss Snooks ... Miss M. Austin 4* Mr Snooks ... Mr W. Carter*Mary ... ... Miss £.. Austin The performers acted in a natural manner, as the audience testified by most hearty applause. Miss Osborne, Fume and Withers accompanied the performers in a creditable manner, and Mr Hickson acted as stage manager. In another column Mr Ennis, the bandmaster, thanks the performers and public for their assistance and support. After the concert a dance waa held, which was well attended. We are glad to hear that the amount received exceeded expectations, and will materially assist in defraying cost of uniforms. The total amount received from both concert and dance was JB2I.
