SECOND DAY.
The weather was fine and the attendance good. Following are the results : —
Summer Handicap.— Perfection 1, Chesseur 2, Magnificent 8. Won by a neck. Donovan and West Guard were scratched. Time, lmin 32*3 ec Dividend, £13 6s.
Handicap Hurdles.— Waiwera 1, Hangfire 2, Skipper 3. Won by half a length. Time, Bmin 56 l-sth Bee. Dividend, £3 3s. Hack Flying.— Beau Ideal 1, Brilliantine 2, Lady's Link 8. Won by 15 lengths, after all the horses, except the winner, had traversed the distance. The totalisator money was returned. President's Handicap. — Cherrystone 1, Palaver 2, Paladin 3. Also started— Coeur de Lion, Strathnairn, Murmer, The Hempie, Sirius, and Kahuwai. Won by a nose. Time, 2min 15secs. Dividend, £7 4s. Hack Hurdles.— Nea 1, Sudor 2, Bushman 3. Also ran-Rimu and Merryboy. Time, 2min 55sec. Dividend, £15 14s. Juvenile Handicap. - Melwood 1, Rere 2, Selkirk 3. Only starters. Won easily. Time, lmin ssec. Dividend, £1 7s. Christmas Hack.— Queen's Guard 1, Vanquish 2, Wai-iti 8. Also ran — Myra and Wild Wave. Time, 2min 2sec. Dividend, £2 Bs. Farewell.— Calceolaria 1, Perfection 2, Magnificent 3. Bona Fide, i Donovan and Momohaki also ran. Won easily. Time, lmin 40sec. Dividend, £8 ss. J817.287 was put; through the machine for the two days.
