Friendly Societies' Picnic.

A meeting of the above committee was held last evening. Bro. H. Palmer in the chair.

The following appointments in connection with the New Year's Day gathering were made : —

Judges— Bros. W. T. Wood and T. Griggs.

Starter— Bro. C. Rush

Track Stewards — Bros. H. Griggs, W. Weston, G. Canton, R. J. T. Slipper and C. Blackburn.

Children*' races — Bros. Buchan, J. Follas, Rivers, C Hosking, W. Rodgers. Guessing competition — Bros. G. Hall, T. Mitchell, W. S. Hart, F. Woodmass. It was decided to add a quoits match to the programme. Post entries. Handicappers— Brs. G. Canton J. Follas, H. Griggs, H. Palmer and S. WatsonIt was decided to request the public to purchase their tickets trom the committee previous to New Year's Day, also that the exact change be brought by the excursionists. Correspondence was received from Court Pride of Foxton, A.0.F., stating that excellent arrangements had been made tor the day's gathering, and that milk and hot water would be available upon the arrival of each train. Special trains will run as follows : — Woodville, 8.20 a.m. ; Feilding, 9 a.m. ; Palmerston, 9 a.m. ; returning from Foxton at 5 p.m. for Woodville, 5.25 p.m. for Feildir.g, and 545 p.m. for P.ilmerston. Full details will be published later.

Nominations for the sports close with the secretary on Saturday evening.
