The Friendly Societies' Picnic.

By an advertisement elsewhere we are glad to see that the Friendly Societies have decided to hold their annual picnic and sports in Victoria Park, as they did iast year. The sports !ast year proved very interesting, and were well patronised by the residents, as well as by the large number of the various Societies which amalgamate for a pleasant day's outing. As the selection of FoxtoD%is a compliment to the Borough, there

can be no doubt but that every assistance that is needed will be freely given, and we can look forward to another pleasant New Year's Day.
