The Foxton Volunteers.

* A good muster of the Corps was held at Victoria Hall last night for the purpose of electing officers. Captain Hunter was in the chair. After nominations were received for the office of lieutenants the results were that Mr John Walsh was elected flrst lieutenant, and Mr A. Stansell second lieutenant. The Captain appointed the following non-commissioned officers : — Coloursergeant, Arthur Henderson; Sergeants, George Gray and Theo. Mitchell; Corporals, Oliver Austin and Edmund Osborne, Jr. The standard height of the Corps for the future was fixed at sft 6in. The uniform was agreed to be Khaki with dark green facings. Several new members were proposed and the full strength has been reached.
