The Boers retired, leaving nine wounded behind. Major General Settle has occupied Bloemhof un^pp ised. BOERS CAUGHT IN AMBUSH. Colonel Bethune's troops ambushed a Boer commando near Vryheid. Sixty of the enemy were killed, thirty-five wounded and sixty five captured. FIGHTING STILL GOING ON. Lord Roberts added that, although the war was over, important work remained to be done, requiring a cont nuation of the services and enthusiasm of the troops. MISCELLANEOUS. A German missionary at Durban named Pronzesty, has been sentenced to a year's imprisonment and fined £500 for treason.
