» OCTOBER. See to successional sowing of all leading vegetable crops ; about the second week sow beets. The main crop of carrot should be in by the middle of the month, and scarlet runners and French beans about the end. Fill up blanks in any sowings, and hoe and weed constantly. Plant herbs. Sow celery, vegetable marrows, and pumpkins.
