Borough Election.

On Thursday an election was held for three Councillors for the Borough. Five candidates faced the ordeal of election, one of whom, however, visited Feilding instead of looking after his interests and failed to get a place. ""■ An ex-councillor, who was absent on the visit of the Governor, was riot placed, and the three who got home have previously filled the position. j There was very little interest taken by the ratepayers in the result, as is evident by the number polled by the j top scorer, Mr Hennessy. j The Returning Officer, Mr Alf. ! Fraser, declared the result within J twenty-five minutes of the close of the poll, which was as follows: — H. Aidridge, 25 ; P. Hennessy, 55 ; W. Purcell, 52; A. C. Stansell, 39; J. W. Walsh, 50.
