Grobelaar's Fourie's Lemmer's and Sasebrock's commandoes are besieging Ladybrand. They have commandeered all able-bodied men and threaten to burn the recalcitrants' dwellings. Two [hundred of Thereon's commando, of mixed nationalities, are assisting in looting the farmers and storekeepers.
There is a large commando on the Vet river.
Ex- President Kruger and Steyn are living in railway carriages at Nelspruit which are covered by Red Cross hoods.
The following belonging to the colonial mounted forces, who were taken prisoners, have returned to the Warm baths :— Sergt. A. Lestrange, a New Zealander; Privates Maxwell and Nanson, New South Wales ; Bushmen Grace, a Victorian, Sutton t a Queenslander, and Budley. a Tasinanian.
Advices from Hamburg state that Great Britain pays £87,500 indemnity tor the seizure of the German steamer Bundesrath by General Hnzog at Delagoa Bay early in the war.
