Foxton Borough Council.

A special meeting of the above was held at the Library Buildings on Thursday night at 7.30. Present— His Worship the Mayor (Cr W. B. Rhodes), and Crs Jenks, Baker, Purcell and Aldridge. ' Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Purcell, That the burgess list as prepared by the Town Clerk be signed as correct, and closed until the forthcoming election is completed. Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Jenks, That the tender of the ManaWatu Herald be accepted for printing the Burgess List at £3 5s for 25 copies. Carried. * Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Baker, That the discussion re peace demonstration be postponed until after election of new councillors. Carried.
