Children's Concert.

Th concert given last night by the scholars of the Methodist Sunday School and their friends proved very successful, there being a good attendance of the public. When the curtain was rolled up the children looked very pretty, most of them being in white dresses. The programme was opened by a piece by the orchestra consisting of Misse? L. and C. Austin Messrs S. Ennis, T. Betty and C. Austin, led by Mr J. Kearsley, and was played in fine style. The second selection " Kenihvorth," a very pretty setting of some fine old English airs was given splendidly, and was worth going a long way to hear. The following pleasing items were given by the children : — Chorus :" I love a good laugh ; " Solo : " I'm a busy little Mother," Rose Foster : Recitation : " The cheerful Messenger," B. Westwood ; Chorus : " The Ship ;" Recitation : " Grandma's Dolly," M. Walker; Chorus: " Little Robin Redbreast"; Recitation: "The Wicked Boy," C. Howan ; Imitating chorus : children ; Recitation : " Sisters Beau," Bertha Dudson ; Pianoforte solo : Miss Furrie ; Chorus : " Ding Dong Daisy ;" Dialogue : Mary's Sick Dolly " Vera Mitchell and Tom Westwood; Boys chorus : "Over the Seas ;" Recitation : " Woman's Rights " Ethel Howan ; Chorus : The Dance of the Fairies " ; Dialogue: "Vanity" Miss Wallace, E. Cozens and E. Howan. Miss L. Austin recited " Aunt Tabitha," in good style ; Miss Wallace gave two recitations ; Miss and Master Cozens gave " A jolly little party " ; Miss Collins pleased the audience very much by her singing of two songs; Mrs Woollass sang " The story land " in her usual style. On the motion of Mr S. Howan a hearty vote of thanks was passed to all the performers, special mention being made of Misses M. and L. Austin, Wallace, Mr J. Kearsley, and Mrs W. Cook for the loan of the piano.
