THE BOERS EVACUATE THE KOPJES Lord Roberts despatched a force of troops to dislodge the Boers from the kopjes north and north-west of Pretoria, but the enemy evacuated the positions without firing a shot. BOERS SHORT OF FOOD. The Boers are reported to be so short of food that they allowed most of the Lincolns and Scots Greys, Captured near Pretoria, to escape.
