.speaking in the House of Commons, the Hon A. J Halfour, First lord of the Treasury, announced that Professor A. I*. Church, Presi-' dent of the Royal College of* Physicians ; Professor John Daniel Cunningham, of Trinity < ollege, Dublin, and Lord Justice Eonier, had been appointed a Commission to inquire into the treatment of the sick ' and wounded in *-outh Africa
In deference to the general wish, however, Mr I'alfour promised.- .-to enlarge the membership, of the Commission to five REPLY TO COLONIAL COMPLAINT-. The Hon J. ( hamberlain, Secretary of :-tate for the Colonies, has informed the New Zealand Government that he regretted the temporary absence of hospital arrangements in - outh A frica, but amp c supplies are now available He has promised an inquiry into the colonial complaints with refereuce to the treatment of the sick and wounded With reference to the expense of hospital attendance, it is preferred that it should be an Imperial charge
