Methodist Church.
One of the most pleasant and enjoyable socials ever gi%'en in the Methodist Church, took place on Tuesday evening. The arrangements were all in the hands o§ Mrs Austin and family, by, whom the social was given. The proceedings were opened by an orchestral selection given by the Mis-sea Austin (2). Mr Beity and Mr Austin, under the leadership of Mr Kearsly. Miss Hatner then gave a song in good style, and was followed by Miss Wallace who recited "The Spanish Champion." Mp Woollass gave a recitation on " The Perfect Husband," Miss Oallan gave a song, and Mr Bray recited " Bairnies cuddle down," which was encored. Miss Simpson sang "Take me back to Switzerland." The orchestra gave a splendid selection, a pianoforte trio by the Misses Austin (3), and Mrs Woollass sang in her usual style " Beauty's Eyes." A splendid supper was served and thoroughly enjoyed. A number of games were indulged in by the young people who had some good fun. A very hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Austin and family, and a most enjoyable evening was brought to a close by singing the National Anthem.
