Serious tramway riots have occurred at St Louis, capital of Missouri, and commercial metropolis £>f the Mississippi Valley, in connection with a skrike now in progress there. The strikers cruelly maltreated those drivers who remained at work, and also passengers, of whom several women were stripped. A force of a thousand armed citizens has been enrolled for the purpose of subduing the riots.
