Supposed Suicide.

On Friday morning a man named George William Koberts working at the Crown hemp mill Wirokino, was found in his tent with his throat cut. The deceased was before the Justices Court on Wednesday on a charge of being drunk and was convicted and discharged. A fellow labourer says that deceased was in his tent on Thursday night and said he felt bad after the drink, and he said he had been drinking heavy. Nothing more was seen of him until some one went to his tent at 11 o'clock the following* morning to call him, and, receiving no answer entered and found the man dead.

The deceased is a married man but the whereabouts of his wife is unknown.

An inquest was being held today.
