A Soldier's Paper.
On the initiation of Lord Lord Roberts, a newspaper has been started for the special edification of the troops. A suggestion was made by a member of the Staff that, a few lines by Mr Rudyard Kipling would assist the inaugural number, issued on St. Patrick's Day. Mr Kipling immediately sent the following impromptu lines by telegraph to Bloemfontein : — O, Terrance dear, and did you hear The news that's going round ? The Shamrock's Erin's badge by law Where'er her sons are found. From Bloemfontein to Ballybank 'Tis ordered by the Queen, We've won our right in open fight The wearin' o' the green.
