The monthly meeting was held on Wednesday; Present — Crs J. G. Wilson (chairman), J. R McLjnvsan, F. Robinson, J. P. Clark, and J. Strang, ._, . .....-, ...„.-• Inward correspondence was dealt with. From Joseph Shapleski, contrac tor, complaining of delay caused by irregular delivery of gravel by Railway Department. — A letter was received from the District Manager, stating a more regular supply would be delivered. » . From Colin McKeczie, Carnarvon, asking permission to cut flax on river bank, Campion's and Frecklington's lines, and offering 2s per ton.— Granted, providing he will give'Sa per ton. . * * From J. E. Fulton, Engineer, offering to plan the tramway extension for £20 a mile, or supervise the work at 5 per cent on cost.— Offet accepted. From Treasury, notifying payment of £500 on Wirokino bridge' loan, and £1000 on account of Main Dr#ux f and Cooper's line loari; an^tjjro^ 1 visionally approving of application " for £6000 at 8| per cent for extension of tramline. , From Herbert H. Hunt, Henry Sanson, junr.,\ and 18 other ratepayers, asking Council to open road for vehicular traffic from Jones' line to Cemetery, connecting with Longburn road.— Overeeer estimated cost at £624 10s. It was decided that if ratepayers are agreeable $p, raise a loan to complete the work, the Council will proceed to form a special rating district. From Ailderson and Mclntyre, - asking for extension of time for cutting flax on roads. — Granted in regard to roads in Waitohi arid Sandon ridings. From Carl Anderson, Bongotea, asking that he be allowed a reduction in freight charges from Bongotea to Carnarvon on coal, timber, and grain. He also asked, as QhajjmAtt of the Bacon Curing Compatoy^c^a^' reduction in pig trucks. v T&feOQopg^ cil was unable to grant either Irequest. ' . v ., •_ From Tramway Manager, report-^ ing that about 408 tons^pf grain had been carried during the month, and the credit on month's work of £7048 9d was chiefly due to this traffic, and advising several repairs to the line and Rongotea goods shed. It was resolved that 85 or 40 chains be formed on the continuation ~ of Rosina road to the river. Tenders to be in by next meeting. Besolved, That M.
