" Sons of the Empire."

The London " Daily Telegraph " on the 14th March last says :— To Australia a large number of • copies of the photogravure " Sons of

the Empire," presented to this Fund by its publishers, Messrs Raphael Tuck and Sons (Limited), is being sent. It is suggested, however, that the sale would bo considerably augmented if it were known that the proceeds would benefit the widows and orphans of Colonial contigents from the Antipodes. The clam is recognised -as reasonable, and in the interests of widows and"" orphans of Australians, Messrs Raphael Tuck and, Sons, the donors, and this Fund have agreed upon a working arrangement by which The Daily Telegraph will continue to receive the proceeds derived from the sale of the picture in Australia, but we shall make corresponding grants to Australian committees for distribution ,to their widows and orphans. In this way we shall be assisting to do something for the families of the brave men who have answered to the call to arms throughout Australia. There can scarcely be any doubt that when the people of - Sydney, Brisbane, • Melbourne, Adelaide, and other large cities realise that in purchasing the pictures they are helping themselves, the demand, already great, will become much larger.
