The Butter Market.
The Agricultural Department haa received a report from Mr Cameron, New Zealand Produce Oommissioner in London., in whioh ac says ; — " la
the butter market up to 9th of March prices have been kept fairly steady. Trade at the time of writing is quiet, and it has been greatly hampered for the past ten days by very dull, moist weather — at all times so depressing to prices. The quality of factory butter continues in the majority oi oa&r'fe&o give satisfaction, but "miiletr" has a large proportion very inferior and is unsatisfactory. I have kept in close touch with the agents, watching the " fishiness." So far I have secured three boxes of "fishy" butter, being samples of different lots, tainted with this undesirable flavour. The bulk of the shipments of cheese so far this season received from the colony come under that heading (finest) and this must be highly satisfactory to shippers. One pleasing feature of the growth of demand for New Zealand dairy produce throughout the country is the numerous and continued applications made to me for information concerning both butter and cheese shipments, and the increasing anxiety of merchants in this country to get in direct communication with -\ the factories in the colony. A good deal of my time is now occupied in supplying this information, and in enlightening enquirers as to the steps taken by the Government in encouraging the industry." When you have a bad coidDrTncUna tion would recommend Chamberlainß's Cough Remedy beoause it is pleasant and safe to take. Dr Experience would recommend it because it never fai s to effect a speedy and permanent cure. Dr Beason would reoomnvnd it because it is prepared on scientific principles, and acts on natare's plan in relieving the lungs, opening the secretions and restoring the system to a natural and healthy conditi >n.
