He returned to Colonel Plainer. Commandant is bomb_rdincr the wostern defences of Mafeking with five gnus. The garrison's gallantry extorted the admiration of the besiegers. 'MERIC-N PRO-BOER SENT* MENT. The American Pro- Boers have despatched a messenger boy to President K^u.^er with a message on behalf of twenty-two thousand children.
The irritability of the Pro-Boer party compelled Mrs Langtry to cease singing " The Absent Minded Beggar."
