Magistrate's Court.

r-#-Return of business done in the Magistrate's Court, at Foxton, during the quarter ended 31st March, 1900. The number of sittings presided over by a Stipendiary Magistrate were 3 ; civil and 3 criminal, and the number of sittings presided over by Justices of the Peace were 21 criminal and 1 civil. The number of civil cases heard by the Magistrate were 6,, and the number heard by the Justices, 3. The amount sued for was £88 10s 66, and the amount recovered was £61 96 l id. > v There were 15 plaints entered, 1 distress warrant issued, z order made on judgment summons, and 25 summonses and other processes served by the bailiff within a miles, and 11 beyond 2 miles.
