TAIKOREA v. FOXTON. On Saturday morning a team of the Foxton Club journeyed to Taikbrea and played a match. The teams made a poor display in batting in their first innings, no player getting into double figures and nine players retired with the proverbial " duck." However, the players were perhaps to be excused a trifle, as the wicket was heavy. Things brightened up slightly in their second innings, T. Edwards for Taikorea with ii, and T. Betty (io), L. Furrie (34) for Foxton being the highest scorers. The teams were hospitably entertained by Mr and Mrs Boswell at their residence, and the visitors returned to town after spending an enjoyable time. From the scores, which appear appended, it will be seen the Foxtonites won the match by seven wickets. Taikobea. — First Innings. C. Mathers, 0 Bowe, b Furrie . . 8 VV.
