Confession After Acquittal.

* , — John Percy Thompson made a written confession at Ruby-st. Police Station, Moss Side, Manchester, on Tuesday, that he had murdered his wife last April. — Mrs Thompson had been found dead with a bullet wound in her head, and a revolver beside her. The husband was arrested and tried at the assizes for murder, but on the plea that the shooting was accidental he was acquitted Since then he has been unable to obtain work, and says that he had suffered acute remorse. It is said to be doubtful whether he can be placed on trial again, but at present he is detained in custody.
