Football.
A meeting of those interested in the formation of a Football Club was held in Mr E. Ball's rooms last evening, 'here being a very . encouraging at. tendance, some 30 putting io an appearance, which gives promise jof a very successful season, provided the members take some interest in their club and roll up to practices. Tt was resolved that the club be called the " Foxton Athletic Football Club." and be entirely independent of the old Foxton Football Club. The subscriptian was fixed at 5s per member, and the wish of the meeting was that every member pay up as soon as possible in order that the club may see its way clear to carry out the objects it has in view. The following 'fficers were elected for the season : — ' Sec. and Treas., E. Ball ; Captain, L. * Furrie; Vice-Captain, E. Hunter; Management Committee, Messrs S. Burr, G. Blanch, E. Dunn, F. Shadbolt, R. Simmonds, W. Williams, and Sec, Captain, and Vice-Capt. The
matter of President and Vice-Presi-dents was held over till next meeting. The Secretary was instructed to procure two ledgers for use, and also advertise that the next general meeting be held in Mr Hunter's Hotel on Wednesday next, 28th, when it is hoped that all who wish to see football go ahead in the town will put in an | appearance.
