The So-called Secret Despatch.
The seoret despatch *fom the Secretary of State for the Colonies £o the Premier of New South Wales has been published.
It spates that the Imperial Government requires an additional two thousand men similar to the bushmen/already cent.
The men are wanted for general ser vice anvwhere in South Africa.
Probably the force will be required oufside of Natal and Cape Colony, in which case privates wiU be paid 5s per day, and other ranks proportionately. Mr Chamberlain is confident that Austrplia will respond patriotically to this fuiiher call.
Real'sinr the magnitude of the efforts already made by Australia, the Imperial authorities will defray all the expenses of the arming, mounting, and transportation of the additional force. Mr Chamberlain asked Mr Lyne to repeat the message to all the colonies, excluding New Zealand.
