Hooper's Combined Go.
The above company made their appearance at the Victoria Hall on Saturday night last and again last evening. The hall was filled on both occasions, and the Colossophone was enjoyed as much as ever. At the entertainment last night Mr Hooper sang " Down South " and " There's Gold in the Mountains," Mr Silbon also sang •• Sweet Jennie " and " The . Farmyard." Miss Beresford contributed " Soldiers of the Queen," and " Poor Little Joe," all the performers cooling in for a lot of applause. A record lately taken in Wellington by the Garrison Band there and produced by Mr Hooper's Colossophone was one of the best ever heard here. Another record was also much enjoyed, and that was a solo—" Home, Boys Home," by Mr Ernest Brinckman, of the " Chinatown Company" who have lately been visiting Wellington. A violin solo by a member of the same company had to be repeated. It is Mr Hooper's intention to visit Foxton again shortly when he will produce some twenty-six new records which have just arrived by the steamer " Knight Templar " in Wellington.
