The Oroua Polo Club sends a team to Wellington to-morrow to play a team from Hawke's Bay, and also the Wellington men, at Miramar, on Thursday.
Mr G. Langley has sold his business to Mr Fraser, who takes charge on the firgfc of next month. Mr Fraser is a practical baker and has been for some time with the Messrs Perreau Bros.
The pigs advertised as for sale in our last issue have all been disposed of.
In the Press we notice that their agent in Foxton, Mr AH. Fraser, secured a few pounds in this town tqwards the "more men " fond. We regret to notice that the Mayor's list is not filling up at the rate it should do.
At the Primitive Methodist Conference the Rev. W. Woollass was elected general committee delegate for next year's conference, to be held in Auckland in 1901.
Mr Silk, pianoforte toner, is now paying a professional visit to Foxton.
On Thursday afternoon a quiet wedding was solemnised at the residence of the bride's parents by the Bey. W. Woollass, the contracting parties being Mr Walter Baker, tailor of Foxton, to Miss Walls, youngest daughter of Mr John Walls. The bride was beoomingly attired in a fawn tailor-made costume, and was attended by her neioes as bridesmaids. Mr Baker had Mr Ward as best man. Many friends were present, and a large number of gifts were received, testifying to the e3teem the young couple are held in.
We remind ourreaders that the garden party postponed from last Wednesday will be held to-morrow in Mrs J. M. Collins grounds. We trust that the dissipation of the past few days will not interfere with the attendance.
