The winner of any flat race after deolai ration of weights to carry a penalty of , lOlbs, and of every additional race 71bs extra, in all flat handicaps at the meeting. The winner of any hurdle race after declaration of weights to carry a 101 b penalty. Nominations for all events, except Maiden Hack Race (first day), and Maiden Haok Hurdle Handicap and Electric Hack (second day), close with the Secretary at Foxton on THURSDAY, January 4th, 1900, at 9 p.m. Weights for first day's races will be declared on or about 12lh January, 1900. Acceptances for firdt day's races olose on TUESDAY. January 16th, 1900, at 9 p.m. Entries for Maiden Hack Race (first day), and Electric Haok (second day), and nominations for Maiden Hack Hurdle Handicap {second day), olose on TUESDAY, January 16th, 1900, at 9 p.m. Weights for second day's races will be declared on Saturday, January 20th, 1900, at 8 p.m.. Acoeptanoes close same evening at 9 80 p.m. '*'• Definition qf a Hack.- A. Haok means a horse-that has not won a race of the value of 80 boys, or raceß of the collective value of 150 boys since Ist August, 1899, and has never won an advertised race exceeding the net sum or value of 40 soys (Haok and Hunter races excepted). Every entry must state the name, or assumed name of the owner or owners, and the same, age and pedigree and descripton of the horse, together with the colors of the rider. The advertised fee must in every case accompany nominations and acceptances. All races to be run under the "Rules of Racing." No betting allowed on the course, except through the medium of the totalisator. The Committee reserve the right to alter any of the above dates. All stakes paid in full. J. R.
