Foxton Borough Council
The following report was read at the last meeting of the Borough Council:— TOWN CLERK'S REPORT. Sir, — I have the honor to report, that after asking Mr Henderson for price of collar with label as directed by the Council I found that Mr Pringle's was the lowest offer and gave him the order. I have ordered the labels from Dunedin. Mr Alzdorf offers to make survey and mark site of the several graves in the cemetery map for the sum of eight guineas, but requests the assistance of Mr Spring and Mr Jonson in pointing out the several graves. As the work at the Wirokino Bridge is noiy in full swing I request that my usual fortnight's holiday be postponed, and that I be granted leave of absence on the 22nd and 23rd December. Application has bean made to purchase the half-inch wire rope.among j the stores at the ferry, but the ferryman points out that it is the only rope be has as a stand-by in case of accident and might be of much use in such a case. I therefore recommend that the rope in question be retained until the Bridge is opened. — I am, etc., R. Chapman.
