School Sports.
This afternoon sports in connection with the State school are being held in the playground. Races have been provided for big and little, thin and stout, and thus all contestants have an opportunity of putting a win to their credit. The following events were got off up to our going to press : — Hurdles, once round track. — L. Cozens, 20yds, 1 ; W. Stevens, ser., 2 ; E. Spelman, 20yds, 8. Girls, under 8, 100 yds —l. Lang, ley, 1 ; J. Cozens, 2 ; E. Robinson, 8. Boys,underß, looyds.— C. Dunekley, 1 ; J. Cooke, 2 ; T. Westwood, 3. Champion race, Ist event, 100 yds. —li. Cozens, 10yds, 1 ; O. Cozsns, Byds, 2 ; E Spelman, 10yds, 3. Small Boys.— R. Andresan, 1 ; W. Barrett, 2 ; B. Liddell, Q. Small Girls, 50 yards— Mabel Cook, 1 ; Minnie Walker, 2 : Minnie King and E. Simpson tied for third place. Champion Race, 2nd event, 200 yards -L. Cozens, 18yds, 1; W. Stevens, 23yds, 2 ; K. Furrie, 10yds, 8. Girl's Race, under 10, lOOyards— .
