The following are the official quotations of the Frozen Meat Trade Association for mutton and lamb, in lots of ioo carcases of fair average quality : — Mutton. — New Zealand crossbred wethers and maiden ewes — Canterbury, unchanged, at 3&d per lb ; Dunedin and Southland, i-i6d lower, at 2i5-i6d: North Island, i-i6d lower, at 2 i3-i6d. River Plate crossbred or merino wethers — Heavy, unchanged, at 2 I g-i6d ; light, unchanged, at 2 9-i6d. J Lamb. — Prime Canterbury, unchanged, at 4d per lb ; fair average (Dunedin, Southland, Wellington, and secondary Canterbury), unchanged, at 3-Jd. WOOL. At the wool sales competition was j yery spirited, with prices unchanged. \
To-date 24,405 bales have been catalogued and 23,535 sold. tallow. The tallow stocks amount to 16,831 casks. The imports during the past month amounted to 8212 casks and the deliveries to 5440 casks. DAIRY PRODUCE. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cable message from the Agent-General as to the condition of the dairy produce market in London. Butter, 105s, prospects are more favourable ; cheese, 575, market rising. WELLINGTON. #:' As to Friday's Wellington wool apd skin sales the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report: — We offered a catalogue of 1500 sheepskins and a number of bales and bags wool. Competition was keen, and an advance on prices lately ruling of £d to £d per lb is to be recorded. For sheepskins we quota- — Half-bred and fine crossbred, tscf to y_d per lb ; medium crossbred, s<l to sfd ; coarse crossbred, 4sd to ssd ; dead skins, from 4d to 4-id per lb. Wool — Pieces, from 3d to 4sd ; locks, id to 2^d ; crossbred, fine, in bags,"iN^ t0 7^d; crossbred, medium, in bags, from 4^d to 6£d.
