Primitive Methodist Church.
QUARTERLY TEA AND PUBLIC MEETING. The quarterly tea in connectiot with the above Church was held lasl evening and proved a decided success in every way, it being found necessarj to have two sittings at the tea. The tables were very tastefully arranged and were presided over by Mesdames Woollass and Cummerfield, and Misses Wallace, Spring, L. and M. Austin, Anderson, Simpson and Osborne. The public meeting was opened with a selection by the choir, after which the chairman, Rev. W. Woollass, read the official report for the quarter, which showed the finances tc be in a satisfactory state. During the evening short addresses were given by Mrs Woollass and Miss Woodcock, both bearing on the Temperance question, and urging the necessity for heads of families to study the well-being of their children before recording their vote. The Rev. Woollass also gave a vigorous Temperance address. \ Recitations were given by Misses Wallace and F. Simpson and Messrs T. Westwood and A. Saufiders, and solos by Misses Anderson and E. Spring (encored). The singing of the Doxplogy concluded the meeting. •
