All Saints' Church.
In out notice of the commencement of the above church we omitted stating how the Bite waa obtained. The land to the east of Main stret-t was reserved by the Maoris from th^ sale to tbe government and it was owing to the foresight of the late Mr Robinson that such a fine position was secured, he havirjgbought it from 'the natives for a church site, and they generously met him in the matter of price.
"We much regret that the many services given in the church by th> Rev James McWilliara, of 0 aki, were missed being mentioned, which arose from there bising no church book of that tim&. Tbe appreciation Mr Mo Williams' services are held in has been witnessed by his frequently having since been asked to christen. marry, or bury aomo membtra <.f familips of the older settlers.
The contractor's nam* 1 was Mi^n O'MiHey, who was the contracto. for the Tramway, but the church builder's name wa* Mnrlwy.
