Opposition Platform.
The following is the platform of the Opposition party for the general elections : — (1) Reform of Legislative Council ; (2) ref6rm of Civil Service ; (3) option of freehold for Crown tenants ; (4) settlement of the native land question ; (5) referendum on the federation question ; (6) penny postage ; (7) completion of the main trunk railway lines ; (8) expenditure of borrowed, money to be controlled by a nonpolitical board; (9) extension of markets for New Zealand produce ; (10) reduction of the rate of interest on loans under Government Loans to Local Bodies Act.— H.B.
